Meditation Group Hikes
During the cooler months, the Thursday Night Meditation Group sponsors hikes led by Angie Knowlton and Ross Payne. All are welcome, whether meditation group attendees or not. We meet at 9:00 a.m. in the parking lot of the church (1901 East Robinson St.) and carpool to the hike location. Those who prefer to meet at the hike location meet us at the trailhead by 9:45 a.m. The hikes last about two hours (4 to 5 miles), with a couple of stops along the way.
These hikes are primarily social events, but in the spirit of meditation a short portion of each hike (about 20 minutes) is in silence to allow each of us to tune in to the beautiful, natural surroundings and to mindfully walk the trail. We do some gentle stretching before and after and suggest that you wear hiking boots or sturdy shoes and bring a bottle of water.
Please check the calendar on this website for upcoming hikes and more details. If you have any questions please email Angieat angie@orlandomeditation.org.
Change Your Mind Day
Once a year, local meditation groups and centers present Change Your Mind Day, in congruence with Tricycle's original Change Your Mind Day. A half-day of free meditation instruction is offered, including dharma talks, introductions to moving forms of meditation, and presentations by local like-minded organizations.
